Leopard’s teeth treated after trying to chew off a trap
When she was found she was trying to escape from the trap and was chewing on it
Once again a leopard was brought into Witbank Veterinary Hospital for treatment, Dr Nolan Landman and Dr Jacqui Hooton where glad to take her in.
The leopard was caught in a trap near Loskop, it’s still unclear how long she was in the trap for.
When she was found she was trying to escape from the trap and was chewing on it.
During this process she damaged a few of her teeth.
She was darted and then brought to the clinic where Landman made arrangements for the best vet dentist to assist.
He got hold of Prof Gerhard Steenkamp from the University of Pretoria and he arranged to work on her teeth on Tuesday, November 26.

His assistant Sister Michellé Cruywagen accompanied him to help where needed with the leopard’s teeth.
Steenkamp qualified as a veterinarian from Onderstepoort in 1994.
From there he pursued his special interest in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery in the UK.
He is well known for the amazing work he does, when it comes to animals and there teeth.
Once the leopard was sedated Steenkamp and Cruywagen immediately got to work.
Steenkamp made sure everything was fine with the leopard’s teeth before she was woken up and placed back into her cage.
