More people fined for not staying at home
Just in this past 24 hours seven more illegal immigrants were arrested bringing the total to 27 in just two days
It seems that residents just do not realise the severity of the Covid-19 virus.
Twenty-three more people were fined for not staying at home. They each received a fine of R1 000.
Since the national lockdown was announced 63 people were fined in eMalahleni alone for not confining themselves to their homes.

Three people received a hefty fine for selling liquor and three for drinking in public.
At KG Mall and in the central business district people again queued in long lines to stock up on essential commodities.
Again no one was wearing a mask or gloves and social distancing was quickly forgotten.
Kriel Mall on the other hand was very well handled as visible markings were made on the floor making it easier for shoppers to reduce physical contact.
“People are requested to stay and shop in their neigbourhoods they are staying in and to limit movement at all times. We will be strict and will not tolerate people moving around when they should be at home,” Capt Hall said.
Essential workers who are allowed to work in accordance with the act, are requested to have their ID books, driver’s license and permit to perform essential services with them all the time as failing to produce such a permit will result in a fine of R2 000.
