First coronavirus death in eMalahleni reported

Mpumalanga currently has 713 confirmed cases, 0,6% of the country total and with 199 recoveries to date

The news came to light that a resident, unfortunately, lost the battle against the coronavirus in eMalahleni.

On June 25 Witbank Pathology was contacted by Witbank Provincial hospital about a patient that passed away after testing positive for the virus.

On their arrival, the staff of pathology took special precautions to remove the body safely and took it to Witbank Police Station’s mortuary.

The Department of Health could not confirm if this was the second or third death in Mpumalanga due to COVID-19.
