‘Hold your horse’, there is one in the hole
Residents and business people in the vicinity got together to try and get the animal out of the hole
A horse stuck in an open hole on a busy street corner….?
Yes, people thought their eyes deceived them when they saw this picture on the corner of Stevenson- and Toerien Street.
People noticed a group of horses walking along the streets of X41 early on Friday morning, July 17.
Later on, during the day there was a big commotion with cars and tractors gathering on the street corner
When Mr Deon Engels went to see what was happening he noticed that one of the horses had fallen into an open hole.
Residents and business people in the vicinity got together to try and get the animal out of the hole.
Eventually the team managed to rescue the horse from the hole and loaded it onto the back of a bakkie along with the other horses that was roaming the streets.
Mr Danie Jacobsz kept asking on Facebook who the horses belonged to while he kept the animals with him.
Eventually, on Friday afternoon the owner contacted Jacobsz and the horses were taken back by the owner.
The owner explained to Jacobsz that the previous night the fence where he keeps the horses and some cattle was cut and cattle were stolen.
The horses then saw a way to get out and do some exploring in the streets.
