Break-in no blessing at children’s ministry house

Mokoena said, they tried throwing things at them. They poured boiling water, threw plates and switched on the gas stove trying to prevent them access. This in vain.

While a lot of people were appreciating the dawn of the new year after a lot of challenges and difficulties of the past year, other people had other ideas.

Three suspects broke into Blessings Children’s Ministry near Klarinet.

The suspects came in the middle of the night on Friday, January 8 and threatened Ms Imelda Mokoena and her family including young children.

Ms Mokoena who has been operating the pre-school for many years has been like a beacon of hope to the residents of the informal settlement. It is said that the suspects came at about 01:30, fired a shot into the air, and threatened the family after breaking the lock at the main gate and broke the garage door to gain access to the house.

“They took a welding machine, grass cutter, power tools, a water pump, a children’s bicycle and also took some other small items from the house. This is not the first time that they broke into the house. They also vandalised the house,” said Ms Mokoena.

Mokoena said, they tried throwing things at them. They pour boiling water, threw plates and switch on the gas stove trying to prevent them access, but it was all in vain.
