Emalahleni Local Municipality asks people to be more patient regarding the water outage problem

Water outage problem is making people impatient and furious

Emalahleni Local Municipality asks people to be more patient regarding the water outage issue. According to a statement by the municipality on Thursday, July 1, the repairs on the bulk feeder line that was affecting the water supply to KwaGuqa (Ezinambeni) and other neighbouring places have been completed, but unfortunately, there is an unforeseen leak on the hydrocarbon polymer prepared from ethylene pipe (HDPE).

The pipe needs to be removed so that the team can be able to weld it.

Some residents are furious about not having water for a long period and some said they are really getting impatient with the municipality, whilst others said they are trying hard to stay positive as they feel the municipality has failed them.

The municipality spokesperson Mr Lebo Mofokeng says the municipality is on top of this issue, and they will try their level best to supply people with water for a short time until the pipe is fixed.

“The water supply will remain isolated, but we will send water tanks to the location to supply people with water. The municipality is pleading to people to remain positive and patient whilst repairs are still underway,” he said.
