Siphesihle eyes the Miss Teen South Africa pageant

An 18-year-old from Phola is a finalist in the Miss Teen South Africa pageant.

A young up-and-coming local beauty queen has her eyes set on the Miss Teen South Africa beauty pageant title.

Siphesihle Masilela (18), a student at the University of the Witwatersrand is currently pursuing her degree in Mining Engineering.

Born and bred in Phola, Siphesihle says growing up she has always begged to differ in everything that she did and was taught the act of kindness at a tender age, “I had this belief of entering pageants only because I had the ‘perfect body’ not knowing that there is so much more it. As I grew in the industry, I came to the realisation that pageantry is about giving back to the community, being an active citizen and always trying by all means to better our country,” she said.

The finalist in the countrywide beauty pageant mentioned that she got the courage and privilege to enter Miss Teenager South Africa through God’s grace, hard work, and dedication.

One of her ambitions is to uplift the black community, launch a food and sanitary hygiene product drive, and to also motivate school learners to study hard so that they can further their studies, “I am willing to participate in any community services or anything that involves the betterment of the community and school kids.”
