Pastor Ignatius shares back-to-school prayer

Back to school netball tournament will take place on February 13 at the soccer sports ground in Extension 16.

Pastor Mahlangu of Emalahleni Men of Destiny wished to share a back-to-school message for learners in eMalahleni before the commencement of the 2024 academic calendar.

The prayer reads as follows:

“Let all learners stand against bullying misbehaviour of learners towards educators drug cases at schools, teenage pregnancy and gangsters.

Education should be a priority for every child and parent. Parents should understand the importance of education and also know that education can change any family’s situation.

We have so many young people who can change their family situations through education.

Children who don’t understand the importance of education and why they are at school are those who cause problems in schools, for instance, bullying and disrespecting their educators, engaging in drugs as well as in sexual activities.

In 2024 we are not expecting such things, I also urge grandparents, fathers and mothers to start preparing their children for school as schools will be open soon.

As we held an exam prayer, let us also have a back-to-school prayer.

All young parents must take responsibility for their children and not shift the responsibility of parenthood to their parents who are old.

A child needs attention love, protection and support.

Children are often exposed to many dangerous things due to the absence of their parents in their lives, especially their fathers.

As a men’s organisation, we are not expecting any child to be on the streets during school hours no child should be without a uniform yet his or her parents are receiving grants.

In 2023 we visited some of the schools where found children who were abused and rejected.

A young boy of nine years old was living with his grandmother whilst his father and mother were still alive and separated and he was involved in a gang.

It is the parent who put the community in danger by the way they raise their children.

This crisis is the cause of teenage pregnancy and separation.

School is a very special and unique institution out of all the government institutions, therefore it is the responsibility of the parent and the community to protect the institution.

Let us respect and honour principles and circuit managers who work very hard to build our children’s future.

They sometimes have to work in difficult circumstances.

Children are a blessing from God they deserve the best. Enjoy the fruit of democracy when we go to vote for the government, we vote for our children.

Emalahleni Men of Destiny would like to honour all teachers, principals and SGB members for what they’re doing, may the Lord bless them and protect them.

We also thank the school staff and the community organisations who participate in the SGP operation schools.”

*The back to school netball tournament will take place on February 13 at the soccer sports ground and financial assistance is still needed to make the event a success.
