The robbers allegedly also searched the customers in the shop.

Crime keeps increasing in eMalahleni as businesses are being robbed frequently.
Last week, on Saturday, a local business was robbed of valuable items.

The items that fled with the suspects included cash and cellphones, which caused the shop to suffer financial loss.
According to the police report, the complainant alleged that he was doing his normal duties as a general worker when this robbery took place.

It is believed two men knocked at the door and the complainant opened for them.

They came in pretending to be customers who came to buy goods.
One of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at the man and demanded the keys to the paying point office.
The man told police that when he gave the one suspect the keys, he saw the other suspect allegedly pointing the firearm at the customers and instructed them to lie down.
The suspects then allegedly went to the pay point till to try to open the till, but failed.

They them allegedly ordered the complainant to show them how to open it.
The man told police after the suspects got the money from the till, the suspects allegedly started searching the complainant along with the customers’ belongings, took the valuables, and fled with their belongings.
Witbank Police are still investigating the case, and the business owners are advised to follow safety tips to ensure that their clients and staff are safe at all times.
