The plastic of today is the habitat of tomorrow

DA handed over items to be recycled by disabled centre in Jackaroo Park.

Democratic Alliance (DA) members donated recycled items to the Highveld Association for the Physically Disabled at Jackaroo Park on Worker’s Day.

This initiative, which was made on Wednesday, May 1, aimed to support the association’s daily operations and prevent recyclable materials from polluting the environment.

Mr Clive Hatch, constituency chair of eMalahleni, said, “By doing this, the DA hopes to put this material to good use, thereby preventing these materials from finding a way to pollute the environment.”

The manager of the home, Mrs Grietjie Naudé, was overjoyed by the donation.

Clr Maureen Scheepers, the councillor for Ward 20, says, “The association plays an important role for one of the most marginalised sectors of the community and deserves the full support of the community by donating recycled items to them so they can continue to function daily.”

“We appreciate your ongoing efforts to support us,” concluded Grietjie.
