‘Thank you for doing business with you’ alleged rapist says

Police are looking for the man who allegdly raped a woman last weekend.

Women’s safety is still a worrying factor in the City of Coal, as a woman was allegedly brutally raped in Coronation.

According to the police reports, the incident happened on Sunday, October 20, at approximately 03:00.

The complainant claimed that, when this incident occurred, she was alone in the house on Saturday, October 19, at around 23:00.

A man allegedly entered the premises without knocking and forcefully undressed the victim, removing her clothing, including her underwear. He then allegedly raped the complainant without consent or protection, threatening her with a firearm and instructing her to remain quiet.

After the assault, the man allegedly handed the victim an undisclosed amount of cash, and said, “Thank you for doing business with you.”

According to Witbank Police spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall, people are urged to report rape and to help others to report rape.

“Do not protect rapists; do not hide them in your home or community; tell the police about them. Bring up your boys to be real men because real men respect women and real men do not rape,” said Hall.

If you or anyone you know has been a victim of rape, you can contact the South African Police Service (SAPS) emergency line at 10111 or the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit, Head Office, Pretoria, at 012 393 2363.
