Kidzhub Nursery pre-schoolers go tree planting

South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Sebra branch, plant seeds for a greener future.

The South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Sebra branch, recently embarked on acts of goodwill and taught pre-schoolers how to plant and preserve trees.

The association visited the Kidzhub Nursery School and donated trees to the school on Friday, October 11.

Ena Vorster, the school’s owner, shared that the event marked an exciting and meaningful contribution to creating a greener and more sustainable environment for their school.

“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation of trees to our school which will have a long-lasting impact on both our learners and the environment. These trees offer valuable educational opportunities for our students to learn about nature, environmental stewardship, and caring for our world,” Ena shared.

She added that the trees will greatly benefit the learners. During the handover, the learners were taught the importance of nurturing and caring for the environment.

“The children learn about responsibility and sustainability. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and involvement when we were planting the trees,” Ena said.

Gert Opperman from the South African Hunters and Game Conservation Association, Sebra branch, assisted with planting the trees alongside the children.

Gert expressed that this year conservation association is celebrating 75 years of dedicated service and commitment to wildlife preservation.

“The learners enjoyed participating in the tree planting activity. It was a hands-on experience that fostered a sense of ownership and pride as they worked together to plant the trees on the school premises,” Gert mentioned.

“We extend our sincere appreciation for this valuable contribution to our school community. We are confident that these trees will serve as a source of inspiration and learning for generations to come,” Ena ended.
