Prayers pour in for Mandela Road accident victims

Both the victims of the car crash on Mandela Road are still in ICU.

It has been five days after the accident on Mandela Road that saw two people badly injured.

They are both still in ICU.

Mahlomola Motaung’s wife Mumsy Masango said he sustained severe injuries to his eyes, mouth, chest, and legs and is recovering in Life Cosmos Hospital.

He was in the theatre on January 4.

He had chest pains yesterday, but Masango said he is better today.

Motaung was on his way to buy water at River Crescent Shopping Centre and turned right onto Bethal Street from Mandela Road when the accident happened.

Judy Scheepers, a young mom of twin boys (4) was a passenger in a towing truck responding to another accident when she and her fiancé Jaco Greyling got caught up in the accident.

Scheepers is still fighting for her life in Witbank Hospital.

All her broken and loose teeth were removed today and her tongue, which was torn in three places, was repaired.

Doctors indicated that they wanted to operate on her broken jaw on Tuesday, January 14.

Scheepers’ family is hoping that she will be taken off the ventilator soon.

eMalahleni is rallying behind both families.

eMalahleni has shown support to both families and has taken to social media to implore for prayers.

“We are keeping Judy in our prayers,” Masango said.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Between December 1 and December 31, 299 accidents were reported at Witbank SAPS.
