Ed-U-College plant trees of hope for Easter

In a display of environmental control and community spirit, Ed-U-College Combined School marked Easter by planting trees and launching a recycling campaign.

Ed-U-College’s initiative aimed to promote sustainability, hope, and responsibility among its learners was a huge success.

A tree-planting ceremony saw the school community come together to plant the two trees specifically for the foundation and intermediate phase learners. The ceremony was held on April 17.

The foundation phase planted a lemon tree, with the intermediate phase planting a fig tree.

According to the school, this act symbolised ‘planting hope’ for the future, emphasising the importance of nurturing young minds and the environment. The learners were actively involved in the tree-planting process, learning about the significance of trees and the role they play in sustaining life.

The event was not limited to tree-planting alone. The school also organised a recycling campaign, which encouraged learners to participate in reducing waste and promoting environmental conservation.

“The greatest gift of Easter is hope. As we are planting these trees, we are symbolising hope,” said Hannarie Jacobs, Head of Department at Ed-U-College Combined School.

As the learners tended to the newly-planted trees and participated in the recycling campaign, they were reminded of the importance of taking care of their environment and the role they play in shaping a brighter future. The Easter celebration at Ed-U-College Combined School was truly a meaningful and enriching experience for all involved.

As the learners continue to grow and develop, the school believes that they will carry the lessons they’ve learned from this Easter celebration with them, inspiring others to join in the quest for a more sustainable future.
