Another hijacking was reported at Witbank SAPS over the weekend.

A man told the police that he went to a local chilling area in Die Heuwel to fetch his girlfriend. Upon arrival, he parked his car where a security officer allegedly told him to move his car, stating that he was blocking the road.

The man then moved to a different parking space and spotted his girlfriend coming to his car through the rear mirror and he stopped to let her get in.

As his girlfriend was entering, an unknown man allegedly forcefully opened his door, and accused him of stealing other people’s girlfriends. As the victim was about to respond, he realised that the man was armed.

The man allegedly continued accusing the victim as he pulled him outside his car. The man was then allegedly shuffed into the boot of his car by the alleged perpertrator who was assisted by a friend.

They then allegedly drove to a different location with him where he was allegedly robbed of his car, cellphone and bank cards after he was assaulted.

“Hijackers are everywhere, don’t take people’s presence as an advantage, your hijackers might be around you. Take care and always be on the lookout,” Witbank Police spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall, said.
