Twelve sheep vanish without a trace

Marking animals with registered identification can help distinguish between livestock property.

A local livestock owner was left stunned after discovering that twelve of his sheep had gone missing without any sign of forced entry or suspicious activity.

According to the police, the victim visited the property in Kromdraai on June 26 at around 12:00, finding everything in order.

However, upon returning on June 27 at approximately 18:00, he discovered that a dozen sheep were missing.

There were no signs of broken fences, open gates, or tampering, and no neighbors or witnesses saw or heard anything unusual.

Captain Eddie Hall, spokesperson of SAPS Witbank, warns the public, “Maintain secure fences and gates, regularly count livestock, mark animals with registered identification, and report suspicious activity immediately.”
