2 more planned power outages to strike parts of eMalahleni soon

Residents from different parts of eMalahleni are advised to prepare themselves for upcoming outages.

Residents of eMalahleni should expect another wave of planned power outages in different parts of the city as maintenance processes continue.

The Emalahleni Local Municipality recently announced an outage planned for preventative maintenance at Sub 5 substation on September 10 from 08:00 to 18:00.

This outage will affect areas such as Emsagweni, Vosman Extensions 15, 16, and 17, KG Mall, and Extension 7 Pick n Pay complex.

On September 14, Eskom will also be performing maintenance at Grobler substation from 08:45 to 17:00, putting residents and businesses in the CBD, Tasbet Park Extensions 1, 2, and 3, Duvha Park Extension 1, Blancheville, Jackaroo Park, Klarinet Industrial, Witbank Extension 10, and Klipfontein Extensions 16 and 41, in the dark for the entire duration of the maintenance.

However, for both outages, the municipality indicated that the list of affected areas may change due to ring feeds within the network.

The municipality advises residents to treat the electrical network as live at all times during the outage period.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we carry out this essential maintenance to improve the reliability of our power supply,” the municipality said.
