Armed carjackers on the loose after two incidents in Kwa-Guqa
Two carjackings were reported in Kwa-Guqa within two days. Police investigations are ongoing.
Vosman Police are investigating two separate carjackings over the past two days, both involving firearms.
The first incident occurred in Hlalanikahle Extension 2 on February 28, at around 00:30.
According to police, the complainant reported that he and the vehicle owner were parked on the street when they were approached by three unknown men who pointed firearms at them and instructed them to exit the vehicle. The men then drove away with a silver-grey Hyundai Getz.
The second incident happened on February 27, around 20:45, in Extension 10.
The man told the police that while visiting his girlfriend, two unknown men approached them, pointed firearms, and instructed the girlfriend to return to her house.

The men searched the complainant, taking his cell phone, wallet with bank cards, and the keys to a company-owned Toyota Hilux, which they then drove away.
In both cases, the robbers remain at large, and investigations are ongoing.
SAPS gave out these tips: “We appeal to community members to always be aware of their surroundings, especially when arriving at or leaving their homes. Avoid parking in isolated or poorly lit areas. Ensure that vehicle doors are locked and windows are closed at all times. Do not stop for suspicious individuals, and report any suspicious activity immediately to your nearest police station.”
