Sisters close in on end destination

The sisters are walking from Springs to Nkomazi, and they are now more than halfway to their destination.

Two courageous sisters from the place of the rising sun, Faith Ndzimandze and Phelelile ‘Phell’ Ndzimandze, are walking 400km from Springs to Nkomazi to raise awareness about the devastating impact of workplace bullying.

Faith, who suffered a mild stroke due to bullying at work, said the idea of walking was born out of her determination to reclaim her strength and voice. “When the thought came to me, I shared it with my sister. She immediately offered to join, because she too had been a victim,” she explained.

On day 4 of their journey, the sisters have left eMalahleni and are heading toward Middelburg. Despite limited resources, they have been resting overnight at fuel stations and are appealing to lodges, hotels, and B&Bs for accommodation, as the cold weather has made their trek even more challenging.

The duo stressed that they have taken the lead, but the public can join hands to break the cycle of workplace bullying together. They are urging community members to support their mission by donating essential items such as water, fruit, and energy bars. “The road ahead is still long; we cannot carry heavy loads,” they said.

Remarkably, on day 11, the sisters are already more than halfway to their destination.
