Witbank SAPS appreciates CPF for efforts to combat crime

During the special parade, officers who had been promoted to top ranks in the previous year were also recognised and congratulated for reaching this milestone.

The Witbank SAPS recently held a special parade, a morning aimed at recognising the Community in Blue for their efforts.

Held on March 16, the event saw the Witbank SAPS acting station commander, Colonel Nonhlanhla Kgosana, handing over certificates of appreciation to the CPF members and the newly elected junior station commander.

“The Community in Blue is working for no payment, and we thought of appreciating them in a special way,” said Kgosana.

Excitement filled the hall as the Community in Blue received an act of appreciation from the Witbank SAPS. The highlight of the day was the recognition of the new junior station commander, Keamogetswe Nkosi, from Coronation Secondary School.

Without wasting time, Nkosi proved that leaders are born and not made. Just after occupying the chair, Nkosi immediately got started on an initiative to address the drug issue, making his principal, Alice Kgoloane, the happiest.

“In Keamogetswe, we have a true leader, and he is going far. He should be prepared,” said Kgoloane.
“I feel very honoured, humbled and privileged for the opportunity to work hand in hand and collectively with the police, the community and schools in eMalahleni. As the junior station commander, my goal is to initiate projects that address issues currently prevalent among the community’s youth. For example, substance abuse and bullying, said Nkosi in his speech.

In conclusion, Kgosana noted that the event also served as a celebration of the promotion of SAPS members within the station from one rank to another.
