Mbali Gaming Hub founder Humphrey passes away

The City of Coal has lost a hero, a mentor, and a protector of its youth.

He spent his life saving others – now his community must say goodbye.
Humphrey Gokoane, the founder of Mbali Gaming Hub, has passed away after a short illness.

He died on March 26 at Witbank General Hospital.
Gokoane was known for his tireless work in guiding young people away from drugs and crime.

Through the hub, he built safe spaces in Kwa-Guqa Extension, Empumelelweni, and Mapule Sindane Primary School, where children could take part in gaming, mentorship, and positive development.

His death comes just weeks after he survived a violent armed robbery in February, a traumatic experience he admitted had affected him deeply.
