2 injured in brutal panga attack; suspect arrested
The suspect has been arrested and is to appear in court next week.
Two men were left with serious injuries after being attacked with a panga in Old Coronation.
The incident occurred on March 28 when the victims’ car got stuck in the middle of the road.
According to the information received, the suspect parked behind the car and approached the victims, asking them to move the vehicle.
One of the men refused to comply. Moments later, the suspect allegedly attacked one of the men with a panga, slashing open his leg and hands.
The victim said the attacker tried to hit him over the head. Another man was also injured during the attack.
The suspect was arrested on March 29 and appeared before Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court on March 31.
The case has been postponed to April 8.
