May fuel price increase: What Emalahleni motorists will pay from tomorrow

Fuel prices are going up from tomorrow.

Motorists in Emalahleni will have to dig deeper into their pockets as new fuel prices take effect from tomorrow.

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) has confirmed a sharp increase across all fuel types, with both grades of petrol rising by R3.27 per litre and diesel increasing by R6.19 per litre.

From tomorrow, inland motorists can expect to pay around R26.33 per litre for 95 unleaded petrol, while 93 unleaded will climb to approximately R26.52 per litre.

In coastal regions, 95 unleaded will cost about R25.80 per litre.Diesel users will face the steepest impact, with the wholesale price of 50ppm diesel rising to about R32.30 per litre inland and R31.54 at the coast.

Retail prices may increase further depending on service station margins, with diesel now reaching record levels.

The increases are driven by rising global oil prices, particularly higher Brent crude oil prices, linked to ongoing international tensions. This comes despite temporary relief measures on fuel levies.
