Youth Day message from Emalahleni mayor

Mayor Nhlapho is calling for stronger investment in young people as the city marks Youth Day.

As South Africa prepares to commemorate Youth Day, the mayor of the Emalahleni Local Municipality, Clr Vusi Nhlapho, has delivered a digital message of reflection and encouragement to the youth of Emalahleni.

In his message, the mayor said Youth Day remains a powerful reminder of the role young people played in shaping South Africa’s democratic future, following the legacy of the 1976 Soweto Uprising.
He emphasised that the City of Coal remains among the municipality’s key priorities, with youth development at the center of its long-term plans.
