Citizens urged to make U-turn to nearest voting station this weekend

Residents in Empumelelweni and Pine Ridge surrounding areas are among those advised to verify their ward information following recent boundary updates.

Voting stations across the country will be opened for the voter registration weekend.
Running from June 20–21 between 08:00 and 17:00, as election preparations continue.

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) has encouraged all eligible citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to visit their nearest voting stations to register, update their personal details, or confirm their voting status.

IEC Mpumalanga spokesperson Thanduxolo Chembeni said the registration drive aims to ensure an accurate and up-to-date voters’ roll ahead of the upcoming elections.

The focus is on first-time voters, people who have recently relocated, and those whose voting districts may have changed.

Residents of eMalahleni who fall within the newly demarcated wards, including the new Ward 35 (covering areas surrounding Pine Ridge and Siyanqoba) and Ward 36 (which includes Empumelelweni), are also encouraged to visit their voting stations and participate in the process.
