Future Stars win Winter Warrior League again

The talented young team continues to grow from strength to strength, with even bigger plans for the future.

Future Stars have once again stamped their authority in the Action Sport netball season, winning the Winter Warrior League for a second time and reinforcing their reputation as one of the region’s most consistent development teams.

This comes after the U11 team started earlier this year and made an immediate impact, going on to win the league in their very first season, which concluded in March.

Head coach Ayanda Khalo described the victory as the result of patience, development, and belief in the process.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the girls. We always have our ups and downs during games and practices, and seeing them maturing like this makes me proud. During the season we had unpleasant moments; it wasn’t easy getting this far, which makes you realise that a house was never built in one day,” she said.

She added that the season has given her clear direction for future training focus.

She also thanked the support system behind the team. “I couldn’t have done it without the parents’ support and players’ willingness to learn, so thanks to the Future Stars family and the parents for trusting me with the kids,” she said.

Looking ahead, Future Stars are already working toward the next chapter.

She said, “We are returning as the new season starts, and we are bringing an additional team, the U10s ‘Cocomelon’.”
