Tournament keeps girls out of trouble in eMalahleni

Five teams battled it out on the netball court while Sboboladies Academy faced Mighty Rangers on the soccer field.

Sboboladies Academy hosted a tournament at Philip Ndimande Secondary School to commemorate Youth Month and promote a healthy, positive lifestyle among young girls.
Held on June 27, the tournament featured five U15 teams on the netball court and two senior teams on the soccer field.

Siboniso Zwane, the organiser and chairman of the Amantombazane Development Netball League, said the organisation hosted the tournament to keep the girls off the streets, and expose them to sports and healthy lifestyle choices.

Sboboladies Academy NPC took the ladies’ soccer title against the Mighty Rangers FC, while Caddies beat all four teams on the netball court. The winning teams received medals and player kits.

Zwane commended all the teams that participated for putting their best foot forward and expressed appreciation for the sponsorship that made the event possible.
