Night of Hope raises funds and celebrates cancer survivors in eMalahleni

The community turned out in support of cancer awareness as Bettie Bandana, Del Forno and HerEffekt hosted the Night of Hope fundraiser.

The community painted a local restaurant pink, coming together for a powerful collaborative fundraiser hosted by non-profit organisations Bettie Bandana, Del Forno and HerEffekt.

Titled “Night of Hope”, the event on July 4 was dedicated to celebrating cancer survivors and raising vital funds to support those currently facing the disease.

Speaking on behalf of Bettie Bandana, Isabel le Roux said the organisation was founded by Retha van Greunen to give hope, encouragement and support to cancer patients and their families.

“The organisation has been working for six years, raising funds and helping with awareness and health checks. We have a few partnerships to provide breast examinations and other support services. Today we celebrate cancer survivors and also raise funds,” Le Roux said.

From Del Forno, Olga De Jesus shared an encouraging message, saying: “You are stronger than you think,” aimed at inspiring patients and survivors.

De Jesus also added: “We thank each and every one of you for being with us. Your love and support are truly appreciated.”
