Zulu-team claims honours in Witbank Golf Club Members Challenge
Organisers have confirmed the challenge will now be held every quarter, with an even bigger event planned next time.
The Witbank Golf Club hosted its Members Challenge on July 4, with members competing in a unique match-play competition between Zulu, English and Afrikaans-speaking teams.
The event was played in a spirit of friendly rivalry, with golfers representing their respective teams in a bid to claim the inaugural title.
At the end of the competition, the Zulu-speaking team emerged victorious.
The Afrikaans-speaking team finished second, while the English-speaking team placed third.
The winning team’s captain, Francis Themane, received the trophy on behalf of the team.
“It was a great day of golf, and we are looking forward to the next Members Challenge, which will now become a quarterly event. It will be even bigger,” said Themane.
