SoGutjhe Royal House and mining partners support elders at Ogies Clinic for Mandela Day
Elderly residents in Ogies received essential items and blankets as part of a joint Mandela Day outreach that also boosted local healthcare facilities.
The SoGutjhe Royal House, in partnership with the mining company and its contractors, brought the spirit of Mandela Day to Ogies Clinic through a community initiative aimed at supporting elderly residents.
The event on July 18 saw the handover of blankets and essential items to elderly community members.
Clinic infrastructure upgraded
Beyond the donations, the occasion also highlighted infrastructure improvements at Ogies Clinic, with the mining company and its contractors contributing towards refurbishment and development work to improve the facility’s surroundings for both patients and healthcare workers.
“This gesture not only honours the 67 minutes of service central to Mandela Day but also reinforces the vital importance of caring for our elders, who are the custodians of our heritage and wisdom,” said Ndabezitha Sipho SoMbali Mahlangu from the royal house. “We appreciate our partners for their exemplary leadership and compassion.”
