It Takes Foundation brings Mandela Month cheer to Kriel Mall shoppers
It Takes Foundation joined communities across South Africa in honouring Mandela Month by sharing handmade creations and spreading a message of kindness, dignity and inclusion.
It Takes Foundation, a skills development group supporting people living with disability, joined the Mandela Month initiative of giving back to the community.
As part of their contribution, members visited Kriel Mall on July 25, where they shared 67 handmade beaded items with shoppers.
The items were created through their skills development programme.
“We wanted to give our handwork to the shoppers and show that we are able,” said carer volunteer Nontobeko Ndlangamandla. “It’s about inclusion, dignity, and sharing what we can with others.”
Yvonne Mofoleng Tsumane said the organisation appreciated the opportunity to take part in Mandela Month activities and connect with the community.
“We really want to thank Kriel Mall for the support and for showing inclusivity to people living with disability,” Tsumane said.
