Dumsane Sbongumusa Nkosi (17) from Kwa-Guqa Extension 16 is carving out a name for himself in the world of pageantry and modelling.

As a Grade 11 learner at Philip Ndimande Secondary School, Nkosi discovered his passion for the stage at school, where he first discovered the confidence and drive that would propel him into competitions.

His dedication has paid off with remarkable achievements. On February 13, he was crowned Mr Valentine of his school.

Just a few months later, on June 27, he achieved another milestone by winning the Face of Devotion Mpumalanga Mr Overall and securing the position of First Prince. Nkosi proudly holds three titles, marking a journey filled with continuous success.

Nkosi is quick to acknowledge the support system that has guided him. He extends his heartfelt gratitude to Snethemba Nkosi, Mr eMalahleni High Schools 2024, whose encouragement and mentorship helped him believe in his potential.

He also draws inspiration from his role model, Gomolemo Baloyi, a Mr Mpumalanga finalist, whose confidence and achievements continue to motivate him.

“Looking ahead, my next goal is to participate in Mr eMalahleni or Mr Mpumalanga, and I hope to continue growing and achieving even greater things,” Nkosi said.

“To anyone who dreams of joining pageantry or modelling, believe in yourself, be confident, work hard, and never be afraid to start. Your journey may begin at school, but with dedication and determination, it can take you to places you never imagined,” he said.

Nkosi believes that the sky is not the limit for anyone.
