Extension 10 family appeals for food and clothing after flames destroys room

The family of three now has a roof over their heads, but said they still need all the help they can get.

A mother of two is still pleading for help after they lost everything they had to a fire that broke out in their rented room in Stanford Street in Extension 10.

According to the mother, Faith Mushangwe, they have been struggling to make ends meet as the fire burnt everything they had in the room to ashes.

As a result, they have had to move to another place where the landlord reportedly agreed to charge them less for this month.

Thanks to the fire department, which donated a sponge, blankets, a stove, and gas to them immediately after the incident, the family is able to stay warm at night.

Mushangwe also appreciated a teacher from Pine Ridge Combined School, who she said gave her children school uniforms on September 14.

“We are still looking for all the help we can get. It can be food or clothes; anything will go a long way,” the mother said.
