eMalahleni’s Nokuthula turns passion for words into purposeful corporate career

“I want to be known not only for the rooms I have occupied, but for the value I have added to them,” Nokuthula Mabuza said.

Nokuthula Mabuza is turning her love for words into a purposeful career, shaking corporate spaces and inspiring generations with her powerful voice.

With a passion for public speaking that developed during her high school years, the 27-year-old from eMalahleni has grown into a corporate communication professional, a corporate MC, poet, speaker, and communication coach who firmly believes in the power and responsibility of having a voice.

“I am a woman who believes in the power of words, the importance of purpose, and the responsibility that comes with having a voice. I am also a woman of faith who believes that the gifts we carry are meant to serve a purpose beyond ourselves,” Mabuza said.

“Whether I am facilitating a corporate event, delivering poetry or helping someone communicate more confidently, my desire is to leave a meaningful impression,” she said.

The poet said that between 2018 and 2022, she served as a youth facilitator in eMalahleni, which gave her experience that allowed her to engage with young people and contribute to their development. From 2020 to 2022, she joined a local radio station as a presenter and producer, which further developed her communication skills and gave her experience in connecting with audiences through broadcasting.

However, she said some of her remarkable milestones came recently when she co-hosted the Kusile Project Achievers Awards last month, then presented a poetic item at the Generation Human Capital Imbizo on October 15.

“These are among the meaningful milestones in my journey so far, and I am still growing, still learning, and still discovering the many ways I can use my voice to make a difference,” she said.

“I want to be known not only for the rooms I have occupied, but for the value I have added to them,” she said.

Being a woman of faith, Mabuza credited God, her family, and Gateway Church International for shaping the person she has become, and advised the youth of eMalahleni to start where they are.

“Never allow your circumstances or where you come from to determine how far you can go. You do not have to wait until you have everything figured out,” she said.

“You do not have to leave eMalahleni to start becoming the person you aspire to be. Your voice matters, your gifts matter,” she said.
