APPLICATION FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION FOR THE MINING PERMIT ACTIVITIES, IN RESPECT OF COAL ON PORTION OF PORTION 15 OF THE FARM WITKLOOF 408 JT, SITUATED IN THE MAGISTRAL DISTRICT OF CAROLINA, MPUMALANGA PROVINCE DMRE REF NO: MP 30/5/1/1/3/15966 MP CassiusM Projects (Pty) Ltd, a South African company based in Mpumalanga, has applied for an Environmental Authorisation in Terms of Section 24 of National Environmental Management Act 1998, (Act 107 of 1998) Read with Regulation 19 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations as amended, 2017 for Mining Permit and related infrastructural activities in respect of Coal, on Portion of Portion 15 of the farm Witkloof 408 JT Situated In The Magistral District of Carolina, Mpumalanga Province. CassiusM Projects (Pty) Ltd, need to obtain both Mining Permit and an Environmental Authorization before the commencement of the proposed mining activities. The proposed project components will include desktop study, field mapping, Diamond Core drilling of 5 exploration holes up to 60m deep, sampling, metallurgical analysis and competent persons report on portion of Portion 15 the farm Witkloof 408 JT. This advertisement serves to notify landowners and/or interested and affected parties that, in terms of Section 16 of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act, 28 of 2002 (MPRDA), CassiusM Projects (Pty) Ltd is required to undertake Public Participation Process and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and compile Basic Assessment Report and Environmental Management Programme which describes the environmental impacts of the proposed development and how they will be managed and mitigated as per National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998) as amended in 2017. PUBLIC COMMENTS INVITED Stakeholders including all landowners and any Interested and Affected Parties are invited to register and to participate on the Public Participation Process by providing their details and interest to Participate before the 24th of July 2026. All the stakeholders are also invited to participate in the Environmental Impact Assessment Process by Participating of reviewing and commenting on the Draft Basic Assessment Report that will be made available for 30 (thirty) days for Public Reviews and comments upon completion.
