Money talks

For the record I'm not talking about physical money, I'm talking about our relationships with almost everyone.

What do you feel you are worth?

As we settle into good ‘ol January, the month that feels like one big Monday we are quickly reminded that budgets, unlike our New Year’s resolutions are meant to be kept because, well you need to eat don’t you? That’s why I have decided that I am going on strike; I won’t spend any more than I can afford.

Forgive me if I sound stingy, but I’m not willing to spend all I have to try and purchase something that shouldn’t be on sale in the first place.

For the record I’m not talking about physical money, I’m talking about our relationships with almost everyone.

We spend our time nurturing them, making them feel like they are perfect and even let slip a few things here and there even though you know deep inside something is off but let me tell you, sometimes you have to realise that budgets are put in place for the exact reason we feel exhausted at the end of a year, we are wasteful by nature.

Wasteful by spending so much time, effort and emotions on things that will bear no fruit in the future. It’s like walking into a butchery and demanding to purchase a car and then fighting because they cannot sell you one.

It sounds ludicrous, but still we go through these scenarios on the daily.

The most expensive thing we want is loyalty and trust and for some it is a priceless commodity, but for others it seems that it is freely available and ready to ship out at a moments notice.

See we are always looking out for ourselves and nobody could blame us but when you try and go into overdraft then you have to dral with taking a lot of people down with you.

As I’m writing this I promised myself that this year, in 2018 I choose to be more reserved in my spending.

There are two exceptions to my rule though, my wife and daughter and boy let me tell you they will always get everything I have because if you want to invest wisely, invest your time and affection and everything where you know it will prosper and bear fruit, not where it could be abused.
