Headline news is always a good source of inspiration for my ranting but every now and then something special happens such as a baby. ETA three months and counting. So what did this mean for you dear reader? Well if you are a parent I am sure you have thought of giving the best for your children and eventually you will have wondered if eMalahleni is a good place to do the raising.
For a loaf of bread it is a warm dry place in the sun. For a child? Well the answer is more complicated.
It is all about priorities. Is your main concern education? Well we have some pretty good schools. Is it health? Maybe the air and water might not create the most healthy environment on earth but then again masses of people are not being dumped outside of hospitals because our air is killing us. Have you seen places like Singapore where the smog coats the city like a blanket?
Perhaps your main priority is safety. If that is the case moving to Australia might be a good option to get away from the crime but then again you will have to protect your children from poisonous snakes and killer ferns.
Maybe it comes down to personal preference, a parent’s idea of what child rearing might look like. I mean to a child they are happy regardless of where they call home. But what do I know I can be a big baby myself sometimes especially when I get sick.
