Some people might say that movies like the Matrix or Terminator depicts machines as the bad guys, but how bad can a race of conquering indestructible machines really be when we have Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in an election that has become nothing more than a reality game show by now.
Closer to home we have Zuma falling asleep in parliament, getting petty revenge using the national prosecutor, and caused the rand value to free fall like a fiery meteor of disintegrating hopes and dreams. All of that and it is not even half way through November. Let’s zoom in a bit more, a mayor who insists the budget allows her to purchase a luxury sedan even though Eskom is going to string us up by the thumbs like a lone shark coming to collect.
A logical person would at least consider a robot overlord as an alternative? Lets do the old pros and cons list shall we.
No corruption because money is a construct of a squishy, limited biological mind. Another pro is that our new mechanical masters will be able to quantify millions of possibilities and probable outcomes in seconds. That’s means you will never have to choose which pair of shoes looks better with that new off white blouse you just bought or which cookie to try first from one of those assorted boxes. The robots will force the most efficient and logical choice on us using cattle prongs (or therapeutic back scratcher depending on your molecular makeup.) Hey lets be honest some efficiency sounds really good right now I know all the angry fed up tax payers would agree.
Cons well the most obvious one is that the robot overlords will likely be cold merciless monsters without any remorse for the citizens whom they trample underfoot in their quest for dominance and power. At least we can understand that kind of thing from a machine but seeing actual human adult people whose decisions affect millions of lives act like a sand pit full of screaming children in their quest for dominance and power.
If the robots do take over they will probably deems names redundant and BTX-3478 Tower in place Trump Tower does not sound as egotistical. Maybe he is only fighting to keep the robots from winning and ultimately to keep his name written in huge gold letters on the side of a building.
