All I Want For Christmas…Is Everything

Believe it or not, but giving has never made a man poor. Hard to believe isn’t it?

Believe it or not, but giving has never made a man poor. Hard to believe isn’t it? Maybe because of our selfishness when it comes to our everyday lives. Not to blame anyone, given the state of our economy but I promise you, nothing on earth gives you that satisfaction of giving someone a gift and seeing their faces light up with true gratitude.

I am used to seeing that face and not because I regard myself as the most generous man alive, but because my puppy Buddy has that look every single day I give him a treat. It’s a look that makes you want more. You crave that feeling of being able to be give the perfect gift. Also a good thing that Christmas only comes once a year because otherwise I would’ve been the poorest man alive. You see when I speak of giving, money and “gifts” are last on the list. You can give someone your time, your company, your ears to listen or your shoulder to cry on and even when it comes to “gifting” yourself you don’t need one day of the year to make it happen, it’s a 365 day a year anytime gift that will always be appreciated.

The other day I attended a funeral of a man that was born with the purpose of giving his time and spirit in everything he did and even though he lived in a small apartment and never wore flashy clothes, he was the richest man I knew. He figured out that life was about giving and let me tell you he never had to wait for a Christmas, everyday was Christmas in his heart.

So going forward in this new year I decided that I am going to get the Christmas spirit flowing through me every single day, even if it means Buddy will be picking up some holiday weight.
