This is it this is the finish line we all see in the distance after running a marathon (unless you are in retail). The end of the year is in sight and that means a new year lies just beyond. 2017 is a time for fresh starts and clean slates.
For some a marathon might not even be an apt enough description I am sure some people feel like they are returning from a battle, complete with bullet wholes and PTSD to round off the experience.
It can get rough and no amount of inspirational quotes next to a picture of a cute baby kitten will make those times easier. However let’s imagine a different scenario with trusty brain known as Brian at the helm of the imagination station.
January 11 my daughter was born, my first child and through all the rough patches that has overshadowed anything valley I have had to cross this year just because she has been such a huge monumental highpoint this year. Trust me those valleys got really rocky and menacing. If I never met my wife, if I went to a different collage, or if I did better in school, or if I had a sausage roll instead of a Cornish pie on 10 August 2006 my life might be different. What I am trying to get at is I am grateful for the highlights up also the challenges, and I need to learn not to resent the lowlights and wish they never existed.
Listen to me I sound motivational…what have I done! This is supposed to be five paragraphs of nonsense although maybe this is complete rubbish in which case, you’re welcome.
If you are crawling across the finish line this year maybe next year join a gym, watch your iron intake and stay hydrated, metaphorically of course. Have a happy New Year.
