Two great treats ready for school

In the Kitchen is back and ready to cook, bake and mix.

Are your little ones or teens going back to school? Well here are two easy to make treats that require no baking just a few ingredients and some time.

The first is Healthy Bars, what you will need are the following ingredients:
2 cups oats
1¼ cups (400g jar) crunchy peanut butter
1 cup omega seed mix or any seeds (sesame, sunflower etc)
¾ cup honey
100g packet of dried cranberries
¼ sliced almonds or chopped peanuts
½ cup chocolate chips

Method:
In a large bowl stir all the ingredients together till they combine.
Spoon into a 32x23cm baking tray, press flat with the back of a spoon.
Place the mixture in the fridge for an hour then cut into bars.

The next recipe is Choc Puff Blocks, you will need:
80g margarine
4 tablespoons syrup
10 tablespoons milk powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
80g puffed wheat (now called wheat crunchies)
Start off by melting the margarine and syrup in a large saucepan, be sure not to let it boil.
Stir in the milk powder and cocoa powder, lastly stir in the puffed wheat.
Spoon into a 32x23cm baking tray and press flat with back of a spoon.
Place the mixture in the fridge and leave for an hour or so then cut it into squares/blocks.
