A muddy affair at the Rally

Highveld Rally once again hosted another successful rally at Laerskool Balmoral, everyone, even spectators were covered in mud.

The rally took place on Saturday, March 8 as a tough track was laid out for rides and all the riders knew it would end up as a mud bath.

The recent rain helped the organizers to make a real nice, muddy track for the rides.
It was a fun day for everyone as entertainment was held at the school for children, while riders on both bikes and quads tackled the route.

The results for the race:
*Woman’s winners on bikes: Tanya Lues in a total time of one hour, 38 minutes and 38 seconds.
*Woman’s winners on quads: first place was Heleen Steyn in a time of three hours, 54 minutes and 24 seconds; in second place was Yvette Grobler in a time of five hours, 35 minutes and in third place was Samantha Hattingh in a time of five hours, 35 minutes and 18 seconds.

*Junior winners on bikes: In first place was Gerian van Niekerk in a time of one hour, 30 minutes and 25 seconds and in second place was Jonathen Steenkamp in a time of one hour, 39 minutes and 25 seconds.
*Bike winners for age 16 years: In first place was Darren van Zyl, second place was Steven Fleischman and in third was Jacques van Aardt.

*Bike winners for age 16 to 26: In first place was Rikus Stuart, second place went to Andre van Heerden and in third place was Wikus Stanworth.
*Bike winners for age 26 to 38: In first place was Jimmy du Plessis, second went to Barend Botha and in third was Werner Bezuidenhout.
*Bike winners for 37 and older: Albert Lampen in first place, second place went to L. Lerm and in third place was Derrick de Klerk.
*Quad bikes winners age 16 to 26: Riaan du Plessis in first place, Jaco Bester in second place and in third place was Gerhard Rademeyer.
*Quad bike winners for age 37 and older: Hennie Hartzenberg in first place, Donaclinn Stemmet in second place and in third place was Johann Geldenhuys.
