Golf day for rugby players from HTS

Brian Mitchell and Adriaan Richter were both a hit at the golf day

A golf day was hosted at Witbank Golf Club for the first and second team rugby players from Hoër Tegniese Skool (HTS) as a fundraiser.

Not all the players in the rugby teams could afford to pay for the tour that they are suppose to go on from April 4, so a fundraiser was organised to help where needed.

Almost letting the club slip out of her hand after chipping the ball out of the bunker is Bernie Maree.
The golf day was held on Friday, March 17 there were 112 players on the field.

Brian Mitchell who is a former South African professional boxer, 14 times undefeated World Champ and Adriaan Richter a former South African rugby player were both a hit at the golf day.

The estimated amount of funds that were raised was R63 770 and this money will go to the first and second rugby team for the tour.

Maricus Maree chipped the ball out of the bunker on Friday, March 17.
Toyota Witbank was one of the big sponsors of the day and all the players enjoyed Arabella Wine that was available for wine tasting.

It was an enjoyable day and the organisers are grateful for the amount of money that was raised so that the young players from HTS can live out their dream on the rugby field.
