ELM intensifies on illegal dumping clean-up campaign
Residents, businesses, and service providers are urged to refrain from illegal dumping, to recycle where possible, and to use official disposal sites.
The Emalahleni Local Municipality has embarked on a clean-up campaign to address illegal dumping across the city.
This initiative has seen municipal teams working tirelessly to restore public spaces and encourage residents to adopt responsible waste disposal practices.
The campaign is part of a broader effort to create cleaner, safer communities while discouraging dumping habits.
During this initiative, Ward 31 received attention as illegal dumping sites at Phola Wayawaya, behind Dona Cemetery, were cleared.

The municipality also tackled dumping at Phola Makausi next to Bhodli in the same ward.
These actions were accompanied by reminders to residents to make use of designated waste disposal sites and to follow the waste collection schedules in their areas.
Ward 23 has also benefited from the campaign.
On March 19, illegal dumping sites near the Roman Catholic Church in Kwa-Guqa Ext 10 were successfully cleared.
Just two days earlier, on March 17, municipal teams cleaned up dumping sites near Phillip Ndimande School in the same ward.

Ward 12, Siyanqoba, has seen repeated clean-up operations, and Ward 10, Ackerville Stadium, was also targeted, with illegal dumping sites cleared.
