Milford FC qualify for Nationals

Milford FC qualified for the National ABC Motsepe play-offs after beating Amajuba 6-1 on Saturday.

MILFORD FC’s dream season continued after they smashed Newcastle’s Amajuba 6-1 at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday in a ABC Motsepe league clash, to finish top of the log and qualify for the National ABC Motsepe League play-offs.

The local team will head to Kimberley from 20-26 July to compete in the National play-offs, with the winner getting promoted to the National First Division for 2016.

The Richards Bay outfit dominated the game from start to finish.

Caiphas Myeni and Sakhile Kubheka scored early in the first half to hand their side a 2-0 lead.

But with ten minutes to go before half time, an Amajuba player scored a cracking goal off a free kick, beating Milford FC keeper Mbongeni Sibisi to take the score to 2-1 at half time.

The local lads stepped it up a notch in the second half, banging in four unanswered goals to take a comfortable 6-1 victory.

Mbongeni Ngcobo and Christopher Makheba scored two goals each to cement the win for their side.
