Triton Xtreme arrives in SA, bush-ready
This newcomer boasts upgrades valued at around R100 000

MITSUBISHI SA has just launched a spruced up version of its Triton bakkie.
Called the Triton Xtreme, this newcomer is available in ‘limited numbers’, and boasts upgrades ‘valued at around R100 000’, according to the brand’s marketing folk.

That makes the Triton Xtreme about R40 000 more expensive than the double-cab 4×4 auto on which it is based.
So, what exactly do you get for the extra money?
The Triton Xtreme has a new black bumper and grille combination, as well as a bonnet protector and headlamp covers.
Other exterior additions include ‘Xtreme’ branding, 4×4 decals, door-handle cups, roof rack supports, window visors and tail lamp covers.
In addition, the Xtreme gains a black Kekosport styling bar, a ‘fender flare kit’ with visible bolts and A-line Hazard alloy wheels, finished in black and wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain tyres.
A Bosal tow bar, Ezydown hydraulic tailgate dampers, rubberising for the loadbay and a tonneau cover are also included in the price.
Inside, Mitsubishi SA says it has added a ‘sport’ gearshift knob as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
Power is unchanged and is still delivered by Mitsubishi’s 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, sending 133kW and 430Nm to all four wheels via a automatic transmission and transfer case.
