Strutting along with confidence
Only a certain few can pull off the strut and for one local beauty, posing on the catwalk is what she does best.
THERE’S something special about a model’s strut – so confidently fluid, controlled and effortlessly captivating with her posture and balance always on par.
Only a certain few can pull off the strut and for one local beauty, Shivani Aiyer, strutting on the catwalk is what she does best.
Shivani’s passion for modelling began at the tender age of five when most little hearts prefer playing with Barbie, than learning a back step. She recently scored a 98 percent pass at her year-end modelling exam and she now qualifies to be a modelling instructor of her own agency.
The ecstatic successful matriculant will soon be heading off to Durban to begin her training at Sky Aviation as an air hostess.
‘Modelling has taught me self-confidence and to not let anyone or anything put me down. Losing a few competitions does not make you a loser but rather teaches you how to better yourself’, explained Aiyer.
Shivani’s all-time favourite local model is her own instructor, Angelique Wright. ‘She never stopped believing in me and always encouraged me to do my very best. I most definitely would have not done it without her motivation. Kimora Lee Simons is my favourite celebrity model as she’s a mogul, mother and model, all of which she does a complete fabulous job at.’
Shivani aspires to be like this superstar as she puts in 110 percent in whatever she does.
Family and friends are very important to this talented young lady, as their support has been a major motivation in her life.
