LifeLine is offering volunteer counsellor training

LIFELINE Zululand is looking to increase its volunteer lay counsellor capacity.

Potential candidates are being sought from the various communities in and around Richards Bay.

LifeLine Zululand will be running its popular in-house Personal Growth Training Course, starting on 26 February 2014 from 6pm to 8.30pm, thereafter every Wednesday to complete eight sessions.

The Personal Growth module aims at developing self-acceptance and understanding.

Potential candidates will undergo an interview process prior to being selected to join in on the Personal Growth Course.

Thereafter, only by invitation will candidates be allowed to participate in the Basic Counselling Skills module (free of charge) which aims at improving listening and communications skills.

‘This course is a worthwhile investment towards your personal emotional wellness and that of the wider community, and is not only for people wishing to become LifeLine counsellors,’ said LifeLine Zululand Director, Sue Stephenson.

The Personal Growth Course costs R1 000, of which R500 is payable on registration.

Registration and selection interviews will be conducted from 10–24 February, by appointment only.

Call the LifeLine office on 035 7892472 between 8.30am and 3pm on weekdays to secure your place, as seats are limited.
