Nomkhosi chases her dream
Nomkhosi was one of five students from underprivileged communities who were granted bursaries and jetted off to Nigeria.
FUELLED to achieve her petroleum engineering qualification, a top matric achiever from Aquadene plans to work hard and utilise her opportunity to study in Nigeria to the fullest.
The Aquadene Secondary School matriculant, Nomkhosi Zulu scored six distinctions for maths, physics, life sciences, geography, Zulu and Life Orientation and was a bursary beneficiary of the Jacob Zuma Foundation.
She was one of the five students from underprivileged communities who were granted bursaries and jetted off to Nigeria where she will be studying at the American University of Nigeria (AUN). .
Zulu said she was passionate about studying petroleum engineering and chose this career path as there is a skills shortage in the country.
‘There is a need for engineers in this field and I want to be able to bring a solution to that situation.
‘There are no short cuts in life and just as much hard work went into my matric studies , the same will be done for my future studies.
‘It all has to do with hard work and lots of prayer,’ she said.
