Gogo gets her first house

Anna Mpungose was living in a very bad iron and pole structure.

THERE were tears of joy as a house funded by the uMlalazi Municipality and furniture and food collected by the uMhlathuze Parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of SA (ELCSA-SED) were presented to 97-year-old Gogo Anna Mpungose living in the Ngodini area outside eShowe.

The parish were travelling in the area performing Bible study groups when they found Mpungose living in a very bad iron and pole structure.

Realising that the envisaged project would be too big for them to fund, the uMlalazi Municipality was approached to provide a house.

The municipality provided the house and members of ELCSA collected furniture and foodstuff.

The presentation was made just before Christmas to a very emotional Mpungose who thanked the church and municipality for their kindness.
